Current VAMSA claims to validate
The current website states approximately 30–70% renewable-source content on its Bio-TPU information page and says the products contain more than 30% bio-based content elsewhere. It also lists resistance, transparency, mechanical performance, bonding, non-allergic and biocompatibility benefits.
Before launch, the website must distinguish:
- exact bio-based content by product/grade
- whether the percentage is mass-based, carbon-based or supplier-declared
- test method or certification used
- which layer(s) contain the bio-based component
- whether “recyclable” refers to manufacturing scrap or end-of-life appliances
- biocompatibility endpoints and test standard
Why multilayer construction matters
A multilayer sheet can combine different mechanical responses within one thermoformed structure. Instead of claiming one layer is universally “better,” explain how each layer contributes to the target appliance behaviour and provide measured properties where available.
Documentation to publish
- material declaration
- technical data sheet
- SDS/MSDS
- biocompatibility summary/certificate where appropriate
- regulatory/intended-use statement
- forming guide
